Join the Osborne Collection of Early Children's Books on Thursday, March 30th for our 19th Annual Albert and Clara Lahmer Memorial Lecture: An Accidental Book Reviewer, by Bernie Goedhart.

Bernie will take a look at children’s literature from a book reviewer’s point of view, share anecdotes about authors and illustrators she has met over the years, and discuss some of her favourite books -- especially picture books.
Bernie was born in Indonesia of Dutch parentage, raised in Western Canada, and resided in Montreal for almost 40 years. She has worked as a writer and editor at Canadian Press, and in public affairs at VIA Rail. She is currently retired, but still reviews books from time to time.

This free event will be held on the lower level of the Lillian H. Smith Branch in the Auditorium.

Doors will open at 6:00pm and the event will start at 6:30pm. No registration is required. Everyone is welcome.  Questions about the program? Please email us at osstaff@tpl.ca.

    *THE GRYPHON, FALL 2022: CORRECTION
Due to an editorial error, in "A Donor's Story" (page 6), the second sentence in the second paragraph should read: And then I learned its fascinating back story—invented by Albert Rakovsky, a refugee from Hitler. [Instead of: And then I learned its fascinating back story—invented by Albert Rakovsky, a refugee from Hitler's Germany.]
