The Canadiana Collection
The Canadiana Collection is a representative selection of 19th and 20th C. children’s books in English, that are related to Canada, or whose authors, illustrators, or publishers are significantly associated with Canada. Among the treasures of the Canadiana Collection are An Illustrated Comic Alphabet which is considered to be the first Canadian picture book; a first edition, first print of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables, from 1908; archives of current Canadian authors; and a wide selection of popular materials, and several small press publications.
